Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 20775 Kingsland Blvd., will be open through Oct. 31 or until the pumpkins are sold. Pumpkin Patch hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and noon-7 p.m. Sundays.

MKT Market Place

MKT Market Place will feature local arts and crafts near the Katy Rice Dryers north of Highway 90 next to No Label Brewery and Katy Coin. The Market Place will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 28-29. Free admission. Email bill@katycoin.com or call 832-443-8509 for information.

 St. Peter’s Trunk-or-Treat

St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 2075 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, will host trunk-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25 featuring candy, food trucks, popcorn, sno cones and games. Come in a favorite Halloween costume but not scary, clowns or political. The event will include a rock wall, inflatable twiste and pastoral dunk tank. Free admission.  Fireflies & Foodtrucks

The Katy Independent School District Education Foundation has rescheduled its annual Fireflies & Foodtrucks to 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at No Label Brewery, 5351 1st St., Katy. Silent Witness program

First Christian Church Katy, 22101 Morton Ranch Road, Katy, will host Trunk or Treat Oct. 28 from 5-7 p.m. The evening will include bounce houses, games, trunk or treating, food trucks and pumpkins. Best trunk wins a prize.

The Fall Katy Home and Garden Show and Vintage Market has been rescheduled for Oct. 28-29 after Hurricane Harvey forced the show to move. Free admission. The show will be at the Katy Elite Sports Complex, 25307 Kingsland, behind the AMC at Katy Mills Mall. Meet face-to-face with contractors and see the latest trends in home decor and design. Prescription drug take back

The Katy ISD Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to safely dispose of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications. The DEA cannot accept needles or sharp objects. Any liquids must be in prescribed containers. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. The take-back program will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Mark L. Hopkins Law Enforcement Center, 20370 Franz Road, Katy. Pet ranch anniversary

Waggin’ Tails Pet Ranch, 7631 Katy Fulshear Road, Fulshear, will celebrate its 12th anniversary with a Hoe-Down at the Ranch from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 28. The event will include a pumpkin patch, costume contest, kid and dog trick-or-treating, adoptable pets and a supply drive by Fort Bend Animal Services (FBAS), moonwalks, games, music and face painting. The Houston SPCA 2018 Calendar Photo Contest is now open for submissions and voting. The top 29 photos with the most votes will be included in the 2018 calendar and the photo with the most votes overall will be the cover star. Voting ends Nov. 10, 2017 at 11:59:59 PM Central Time. Family event

Community Campout

Katy Parks & Recreation Department is organizing its fall Community Campout on Nov. 3-4 at Katy VFW Park, 6202 George Bush Drive in Katy. The free event will include an outdoor movie, tree adoptions, a hot dog dinner and breakfast. Keep Katy Beautiful will present a program about Texas Arbor Day. ‘Who Put the ‘H’ in Rhythm & Blues’

“Who Put the ‘H’ in Rhythm & Blues” will be presented Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at World Theater in Katy. Dog Adoption Day

Willowfork Fire Department (Fort Bend County Emergency Services District # 2) will partner with Fort Bend County Animal Services to hold a special Dog Adoption Day giving members of the community an opportunity to provide good homes to some special fur babies. This event will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Station 2, 26950 Cinco Ranch Blvd. All that is needed to adopt is a Driver License and $50 (cash only). All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm tested. If adoption is not an option but you would like to help the cause, feel free to drop by with donations.

Holiday Book Bash

Maud Marks Library’s fourth annual Book Bash will be on Saturday, Nov. 4, between 2-4:30 p.m. Mix and mingle with prize-winning authors where there will be two hours of storytime, crafts, author talks and prizes for those attending. Children’s authors will be reading their books and doing crafts with the kids.

Adults can attend one or more of our many author panels which include, Doing Historical Research, Path to Publishing, Do You Have What It Takes, Creating Villains. There will be extra prizes for teachers and other educators. Also, join authors to purchase autographed copies of their newest books. Free. Mommy Book Club
